How to Schedule Facebook Posts
So you have a Facebook State page and now you’re looking for the best way to ensure you’re posting regularly for your audience. Luckily Facebook has a post scheduling feature that helps page admins stay on top of their content.
When and how often you post can often be as important as what you post. We’ll show you exactly how to use it in the below step-by-step tutorial and share some best practices specific to ARNG marketing.
While scheduling posts may save you time, don’t’ forget to log in regularly to evaluate analytics and respond to Direct Messages (DMs) and post comments.
Managing Scheduled Posts
After scheduling your Facebook posts, you may want to make some adjustments to the content, post time, or simply remove a scheduled post altogether. Here’s how to get started managing.
Facebook Terms to Know:
- Publish:The post will immediately appear in your timeline and can be seen by your followers.
- Remove Schedule:Your post will no longer be scheduled and will instead be listed as a draft. You’ll be able to find all your draft posts in the left menu bar under “Drafts.”
- Reschedule:You can choose a different time and date for your post to be scheduled.
- Backdate:Your post will appear on your timeline marked with a date in the past that you've chosen. Keep in mind that backdated posts appear immediately in your news feed.
You State page audiences will respond at different times to a wide variety types of content. There is a ton of data out there that suggests certain times are better for posting to Facebook than others. First and foremost, it’s important to post five to seven times per week. Research shows that posts published toward the end of the week perform better. Compared to other weekdays, engagement increases by eighteen percent on Thursdays and Fridays, and it increases to thirty-two percent on Saturdays and Sundays. The best times to post are in the morning at 9 a.m. and in the afternoon at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
To make Facebook’s post scheduling feature work for you, we recommend spending time at the start of each week to schedule your posts. Make sure to plan content around holidays and ARNG news, like the $20k incentive bonus.
